Organizers against California’s Prop 8 are putting out a coast-to-coast call to action—days before Christmas. But they say they want their impression to be one of large numbers, not noisy protest.
The group of same-sex marriage proponents called “Join The Impact” is planning nationwide candlelight vigils for Saturday evening. Demonstrators will bring a candle, join the crowd, and remember the rights of thousands of same-sex couples in California. One of the things the organizers are stressing is that they want the protest to be peaceful. They’re encouraging silence or singing, and are asking protesters not to bring signs.
