While his Inauguration speech was grounded in the present, its overall message talked about hope for the future, and meeting the challenges ahead...
Perhaps one of the most touching moments of the ceremony came from Aretha Franklin, as she belted out “My Country ‘Tis Of Thee...”
And a great moment of welcome levity came from Reverend Lowery to end the service...
An Inuaugural luncheon followed in the Hall of Statues in the Capitol Building, and so did some tense moments when Senator Ted Kennedy collapsed from what doctors are now calling “simple exhaustion” related to his brain cancer. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was alert and talking to doctors.
